Inspired by The French Lieutenant’s Woman, the collection Aquascutum 2012 focused on Aquascutum’s rock-solid reputation for coats: these were long, narrow, saddle-makers' belt, and worked in cashmere camel and leather, in shades of black, navy, olive. Long trench-coats, and capes, worn with organza shirts and wide-legged trousers, added to the dramatic mood, while flat, silver, lace-up shoes.

Evening wear hit the metallic chord, with full-length dresses, with ruched bodices, shirred silk, tulle, organza and shimmering gold brocade. Aquascutum collection 2012 marked a pivotal moment at which the designer found a perfect equilibrium between his own instinct and he started last season.
